Italy v France: UFWC title on the line in Milan

Share post on:

France kept the title when these sides drew in October. Italy now have another chance to take the Unofficial Football World Championships title, this time on home ground. Their meeting in Milan is the next scheduled UFWC title match, #1052 in the site's published record.

Italy v France takes place on Thursday 12 November 2026 at 19:45 GMT / 20:45 CET at the Giuseppe Meazza stadium, San Siro, Milan. The French Football Federation's fixture listing confirms the date, local kick-off time and venue. It is a UEFA Nations League fixture with an extra story for anyone following the UFWC.

What is at stake?

The idea is simple: beat the holder and take the title. A draw leaves it with the reigning champions. That means Italy must win in Milan to become the next UFWC holders; either a France win or a draw keeps the title with France.

The UFWC is an unofficial way of following international football through a continuous sequence of results. It is separate from the Nations League standings and is not a FIFA or UEFA trophy. The title follows the holder into their next eligible international, wherever that takes the story. Our rules explain how matches count.

France's run to Milan

France took the title with a 1–0 win in Türkiye on 25 September. They retained it by beating Belgium 1–0 three days later, drawing 1–1 with Italy on 2 October and defeating Belgium 4–1 on 5 October. That makes three wins and one draw in this title run. Those scores are recorded in UEFA's results list.

For Italy, the return fixture offers another attempt after October's draw. Their other recent Nations League results include 4–1 and 3–1 wins over Türkiye. The UFWC question in Milan is narrower than any assessment of form: can Italy turn this challenge into a win?

Where could the title go next?

There are two possible routes on 15 November. If France retain, their scheduled home match against Türkiye becomes the next title fixture. If Italy win, the title travels with them to Belgium. Neither route is confirmed until the Milan result is known.

A note on the record

This preview follows the established published lineage. Four CHAN qualifiers from 2024 and 2025 remain included provisionally: their results have been cross-checked, while their precise FIFA A-international classification remains under review. The results page explains this qualification. Any eligibility correction will be documented.
