France came from behind once again to retain the UFWC title and ensure they remain the undisputed official and unofficial football world champions. Antoine Griezmann scored twice in the last half hour for France against struggling Germany. Germany took the lead from a penalty awarded after Paul Pogba was caught in possession and Leroy Sane's cross hit Presnel Kimpembe on the arm. Toni Kroos scored from the spot, just squeezing the ball under Hugo Lloris.

France beat the Netherlands in this UEFA Nations League match to retain the UFWC title and remain unofficial (and official) football world champions. France were again without injured captain Hugo Lloris. Alphonse Areola deputised in goal. Germany 1-0 Argentina, FIFA and UFWC titles unified

A wonderful goal by wunderkind Mario Goetze secured Germany their fourth World Cup title. In defeating Argentina, the Germans also took the UFWC title and became Unofficial Football World Champions. Having unified the FIFA and UFWC titles, Germany can claim to be the 'undisputed' champions. This was the fourth successive UFWC title match to go to extra time, but unlike the previous three it didn't go to penalties. Substitute Goetze's 113th minute strike was all that was required to win the game, as a fantastic World Cup came to an end.

Germany attempted a comeback, but looked a shadow of the team that won the World Cup. Although Germany will retain the FIFA title for the next four years, they are swiftly deprived of the UFWC title. A 59th UFWC title match win makes Argentina the new Unofficial Football World Champions.
