New champions Peru take UFWC title from Bolivia

Peru are the new unofficial football world champions after beating Bolivia in Lima in this World Cup qualifier. Edison Flores and Christian Cueva scored the two excellent goals for Peru in a 2-1 win that maintains their chances of reaching Russia 2018. The next challengers will be Ecuador, who haven't won a UFWC title match since 1965.

This is the third edition of the book that was labelled 'a fascinating history of football' by FourFourTwo magazine in a five-star review. New Zealand and Peru draw in first match of UFWC / WC clash

First-time UFWC challengers New Zealand held Unofficial Football World Champions Peru to a goalless draw in this first leg of the OFC–CONMEBOL World Cup qualification play-off. In a game of few chances, Peru had the majority of the possession, but couldn't get an away goal. The second leg will be played in Lima on Wednesday, 15 November, with all to play for.
