So Uruguay retained the UFWC title, moving up to 13th place in the overall rankings - and won the LG Cup. But there was some consolation for Tunisia - they will go to the World Cup finals, while Uruguay and the UFWC title will not. Uruguay took the unofficial title from Romania in May, and subsequently held off challenges from Serbia & Montenegro, Libya and Tunisia in the run-up to the official World Cup. Twice World Cup winners, Uruguay narrowly failed to qualify for Germany 2006, losing on penalties to Australia. La Celeste, or La Olimpica, are coached by Oscar Tabarez, and star players include AS Monaco midfielder Diego Perez and Sinaloa striker Sebastian Abreu.
