Peru retain UFWC title against Croatia in Miami

Reigning Unofficial Football World Champions Peru retained their title and served a notice of intent ahead of the World Cup finals in this warm-up match against European qualifiers Croatia, played in the US, at the home stadium of the Miami Dolphins. Peru completely dominated against a strong Croatia side, and comfortably won 2-0, despite being reduced to ten men in the second half. André Carrillo and Edison Flores scored the goals. Next up for Peru is a match against Iceland, on Tuesday, in New Jersey.

Unofficial football world champions Peru face Croatia in Miami

The UFWC gets back underway on Friday evening, as Unofficial Football World Champions Peru begin their World Cup warm-up campaign with a match against fellow WC qualifiers Croatia. The match is being played in the United States, at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. It’s the first of two US-based friendlies for Peru. They play Iceland next Tuesday, at the Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey. It’s the start of a series of matches that could see the UFWC title change hands several times, and perhaps be contested at Russia 2018.

Chile beat Croatia in China to remain unofficial champions

Chile defeated Croatia on penalties in this unusual China Cup game to retain the UFWC title and remain unofficial football world champions. Both sides fielded unfamiliar teams in Nanning, but the game was classified as an “A” international, and therefore a UFWC title match. The inaugural China Cup tournament also features Iceland and China. Iceland beat China yesterday, so Chile and Iceland will face each other in the China Cup final on Sunday.
