Last minute goal makes Germany new Unofficial World Champion

Only 4 months after their last UFWC meeting (Match #954, 19th November 2018) Netherlands was again challenged by Germany in a European Qualifier Match in Amsterdam. Germany’s head coach Jogi Loew fielded a refreshed and young team, having sorted out Mats Hummels, Jerome Boateng and Thomas Mueller just some days before starting into the UEFA2020 Qualifying campaign.

Nations League comeback saves UFWC title for the Netherlands

The Netherlands staged a dramatic last-gasp fightback to retain the UFWC title and remain unofficial football world champions in this high-stakes match, which also saw the Dutch qualify for the Nations League Finals next summer. The Dutch were 2-0 down with just five minutes left on the clock, but late, late goals from Quincy Promes and Virgil Van Dijk stole a draw.

France defeat Germany to remain undisputed champions

France came from behind once again to retain the UFWC title and ensure they remain the undisputed official and unofficial football world champions. Antoine Griezmann scored twice in the last half hour for France against struggling Germany. Germany took the lead from a penalty awarded after Paul Pogba was caught in possession and Leroy Sane’s cross hit Presnel Kimpembe on the arm. Toni Kroos scored from the spot, just squeezing the ball under Hugo Lloris.
